John, Doc. Holliday
Born: 1853 in Griffin, Georgia
Died: November 8, 1887 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Around 1877, Doc met Wyatt Earp
in a saloon called Shanessy's in Fort Griffin, Texas. They immediately
hit it off and became instant friends, both admiring certain qualities
of each other. Wyatt said Doc was "the most skillful gambler,
and the nerviest, fastest, deadliest man with a six-gun he ever knew."
After fighting for the Confederacy during the civilwar Jessie and
his brother Frank James became outlaws
and established a gang that included Jessie James, Bob Younger, Cole
Younger, James Younger, Bill Chadwell, Clell Miller and Charlie Pitts.
During their outlaw years the brothers took part in twelve bank robberies,
seven train robberies, four stage-coach robberies and various other
criminal acts. During these crimes at least eleven citizens were killed
by the gang.
